ABOUT SHAUN

Shaun serves as the Minister of Evangelism and Discipleship at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. He and his wife Deshni were born and raised in South Africa. Shaun grew up in the small town of Sezela, and Deshni in the city of Durban. After his theological education at Durban Bible College and The University of Zululand, Shaun served as a youth and missions pastor in Durban. It was at a conference in Birmingham, England in 2005 that Shaun heard of the need for missionaries in America. The Pillays answered the call to the USA in 2007.

Shaun and Deshni planted Cornerstone City Church in Norwich, CT and it continues to grow under the leadership of Pastor David Holland. Shaun has a deep passion for church planting, and later served as church plant catalyst for the North American Mission Board (NAMB), extensively serving the northeast states for 7 years. He still coaches many of the church planting teams throughout the country in church revitalization, developing effective ministry teams, mobilization and evangelism strategies. Shaun and Deshni are also very passionate about reaching the unreached people groups around the world.

The Pillays have been married for 13 years and reside in Pensacola, Florida. Shaun is a passionate soccer fan (real football) and an avid fan of Liverpool Football Club. He also enjoys golf, hiking with Deshni, reading and playing soccer. Deshni loves to cook, bake, hike and visiting castles on their travels. They are both deeply committed to making disciples … for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea, Habakkuk 2:14.
